Authority and Responsibilities of the Highway District
- To plan highway maintenance works, highway safety operations, and small-scale construction projects.
- To survey, inspect, and prepare plans and data regarding sources of construction materials and preliminary road conditions.
- To carry out highway maintenance works, highway safety operations, and small-scale construction projects.
- To perform preventive maintenance, adjustments, and minor repairs of machinery, vehicles, tools, and equipment used for highway construction and maintenance under its responsibility.
- To implement public participation activities in areas where highway construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects are undertaken.
- To inspect, supervise, and enforce highway laws as assigned.
- To process permits under highway laws as assigned.
- To operate mobile vehicle weight control stations.
- To support and coordinate operations with provincial authorities and other agencies.
- To cooperate with or support the operations of other related or assigned agencies.
Highway District Director
- To plan routine maintenance, periodic maintenance, special maintenance, rehabilitation, and pavement preservation works.
- To plan operations and ensure implementation in accordance with the established work plans.
- To oversee the maintenance of machinery and vehicles.
Deputy Highway District Director (Operations)
- To assist in administration, supervision, monitoring, and problem-solving of Highway Maintenance Unit operations.
Deputy Highway District Director (Engineering)
- To assist in administration, supervision, monitoring, and problem-solving of planning, safety, maintenance improvement, and electrical works.
Deputy Highway District Director (Administration)
- To supervise and oversee document control, finance and accounting, procurement and contracts, information technology, and landscape and gardening units.
- To publicize and disseminate the performance and activities of the Highway District.
- To coordinate with related agencies.
Head of Highway Maintenance Unit
- To carry out routine maintenance and pavement preservation works.
- To inspect highway right-of-way boundaries.
- To control and prevent encroachment on highway right-of-way areas.
- To control and prevent encroachment on reserved land outside the highway right-of-way.
- To examine and process applications for any activities within the highway right-of-way.
